RDSG Blizzard ~ DOB 12/27/15, shown at 14 days old.
Our first show kids for the 2016 season came from two bred does that we purchased late in 2015. GRITS Girls Night Out had two super buck kids on 12/27/15, hence the names Blizzard and Storm. These two buck kids have some of the TOP foundation genetics in boer history -- *Ennobled* RRD Gauge P529, Agnew's Cash Reward, Bo-Howdy, and TLB333 Ripper from the sire, as well as Smokin Hot Ruger and AK-47 from the dam.
The doeling on the right ~ Snooty Booty~ is out of a Paul Payne doe we call Mighty Minnie. Minnie is a daughter of PDF X859 Mighty Me out of a Jack doe and was bred to a Helms 191 buck called Lucky Ace. Minnie had a buck and doe kid on December 10th, 2015 and they both have "the look"! There is a reason that the Mighty Me and Helms 191 genetics consistently win wether shows, and these two kids are another great example of that consistency. We expect both of these kids to be wearing purple ribbons this year!
More kids will hit the ground around February 5th - we are so excited to see what new bloodlines like BSA Bo-Beast, Check My Swag, Guns N Roses, Helms 191, Gamechanger, RAFF 900, Catfish, and Goose It (a Grey Goose son) produce this year! Please check back starting in mid-February for updates to the "For Sale" page.

We had a great weekend at the Labor Day Sales in San Angelo! We got to see great goats, visit with great people, and buy great animals. We put the does with the bucks on September 7th and we can't wait to see our 2016 kid crop starting in February!
Even the little girls have a crush on this good-lookin' wether buck!
Tag 1479 is a PBL JB Daughter (Hammer/Taser/Outlaw) over a Game Changer daughter. Tag 1534 is an own daughter of Game Changer over a Hammer doe. Tag 1517 is a Mighty Me daughter out of a Jack granddaughter. Oh My! These girls have wide, flat tops and round butts like you wouldn't believe!
#1422 - a wether buck we bought at the Paul Payne Production Sale on 09/05/15 - he's a son of Helms 191 out of a Helms-bred doe which makes him a full brother to Paul Payne's Lucky Ace herdsire. The girls at the RDS Goat Ranch went wild when he stepped off the trailer! You just can't ask for more power and consistency than what the Helms 191 bloodlines produce.
What a wether producer! A registered percentage daughter of Schafer Farms' B171 Pure Power buck.
The buzz in the industry today is "The Best of Both Worlds", meaning that many breeders are selecting does and bucks to produce offspring that can compete in the ABGA-registered world as well as the show wether world.
Our recent additions to the herd include blue-chip ABGA bloodlines like 2DOX Cuger, CSB BROS Smokin Hot Ruger, TST1 Strategic Power, AABG NBD Grand Design, and many great foundation genetics like 2DOX CD's Salute, TLB T333 Ripper, JR Patterson's Punkie Point Blank, DCW Bo-Jangle, and an own daugher of Pistelero out of a TST1 Strategic Power daughter (Thank you, Terry Taylor and Sammy Lerena for this rare and unique genetic package!).
Our wether does carry proven bloodlines as well, including Helms 191, RAFF 900, Kelly's CATFISH, PDF GAME CHANGER, Norman Kohl's Chunky Monkey, BEAN 706, Guns N Roses, Slash, Wrangler, and Paul Payne's OUTLAW/TASER/HAMMER. Check out some of these winning genetics on our Show Results page.
BSA Angel's Sigh ! a BSA Bo-Beast daughter out of EGGS Z255 *Ennobled*
I'm not sure if they are a posse or a gang, but they are always lookin' for trouble!
Good Breeding Shows
but. . . . .
GREAT Breeding Shows Better!
Gotta be a Goat Thing......
It seems physically impossible for these two doelings to push their heads through a 6x6 square in the fence.
There was nothing but dirt on the other side and we had to cut the panel to get them out.
What we wouldn't give to understand the why and the how of this little picture.
You will find some of the most productive and proven ABGA-Ennobled Boer bloodlines in our herd. Our Smokin Hot Ruger son put some big-topped, big-hipped and wide-fronted kids on the ground in his first breeding year (2014). Our kids out of JRP1 Stud Muffin consistently show his refined head and clean front. Rock N Hot Pete's offspring are what we call "complete" - just darn good from nose to tail. Both of our senior herdsires, Broken S Smokin A76 and Rock N Hot Pete, are proven producers with 2 County Grand Champions, 7 Reserve Grand Champions, and 11 other 1st-or-2nd in Class/Grand Drive placings during 2014 and 2015.
Are you looking for AK-47 bloodlines? Ripper? Strategic Power? Cat in the Hat? Buttmaster? CSB Bullseye? Lary's Cryin? Status Quo? Or how about some of the great foundation bloodlines, like Pistolero, Bo-Howdy, Gauge, Bingo or Power Source? Or the great wether names, like Helms 191, Guns N Roses, Bean, RAFF 900, and PDF Gamechanger? Our careful selection of bloodlines in our herd of 50 does and 2 stud bucks is designed to produce championship animals which will exceed ABGA standards as well as compete in the wether industry.
